Medicare, easy as 1, 2, 3, ABC... and D

Remember when The Jackson 5 taught us love was as easy as learning our ABC’s, and 1,2,3’s?

I think life has proved it’s a little more complicated than that, but understanding the parts of Medicare doesn’t have to be!

Let us help break down the different parts of Medicare.

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance):

  • Part A covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance):

  • Part B covers doctor's visits, outpatient services, preventive services, and some medical equipment. The cost of Part B is income based.

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage):

  • Part C is an alternative to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) and is offered by private insurance companies.

  • It typically includes all the benefits of Parts A and B and often includes prescription drug coverage (Part D) and additional services like dental and vision.

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage):

  • Part D is a standalone prescription drug plan offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.

  • It helps cover the costs of prescription medications.

While we may do a good job breaking it down, Medicare can be a complex topic, and the specific details, costs, and options can vary. Please give us a call to stop in to speak with our agents about your care plan!
